Know the Partnership Table
Your partner sits opposite. West and East are the opposing team. The center handles bidding first, then becomes the trick area.
How to Play Euchre
- 1Bid for trump
Order up the turned suit, or pass. Ordering up makes the dealer pick up that card and discard 1 card, even if the dealer is your opponent. If all 4 players pass, the second round offers the other 3 suits.
- 2Follow the led suit
You must follow suit when able. Otherwise, play any card, including trump.
- 3Take three tricks
The partnership that calls trump is the maker and needs at least three of five tricks.
- 4Race to 10 points
Scores carry across hands. The dealer moves clockwise after each hand.
Right Bower and Left Bower
The jack of trump is the right bower and highest card. The jack of the same color is the left bower, second highest, and counts as trump rather than its printed suit.

Why the Jack of Diamonds must follow Hearts
Hearts are trump and the Ace of Hearts is led. You hold the Jack of Diamonds and the 9 of Diamonds. The Jack is a trump card, so you must play it instead of the 9.

If Diamonds were led instead, you would have to play the 9 of Diamonds. The Jack still counts as a Heart for this entire hand.

This table uses stick the dealer. If everyone passes twice, the dealer must call one of the legal suits instead of redealing.
Beginner Euchre Strategy
- Count bowers and high trump before calling. Three useful trump cards are often enough to compete.
- Lead trump when your team made it and you want to remove defenders' trump cards.
- Do not automatically trump your partner's winning card. Save trump when the trick is already safe.
- Go alone only with a hand that has a realistic path to all five tricks.

Can I play with friends in this game?
This table is single-player with 3 computer players. It does not create a multiplayer room or invite link.
Why is a card in my hand disabled?
Wait for your turn, then follow the led suit if you can. The left bower belongs to trump, even though another suit is printed on it. During bidding, use Order Up, Pass or a suit button instead of playing a hand card. Show Hint can suggest a bid, discard or legal play.
How do I play on a phone, and is my match saved?
Tap the labeled bidding buttons, then tap a legal card when it is your turn. On a keyboard, use Tab and Enter or Space. New Match starts over, and refreshing the page also begins a fresh match; unfinished matches are not saved.
Does the left bower follow its printed suit?
No. It belongs to the trump suit for the entire hand.
What does going alone do?
Your partner sits out. A five-trick lone sweep scores 4 points.
What does euchred mean?
The makers took fewer than three tricks, so the defenders score 2 points.
Can I pass as the dealer in round two?
No. Stick the dealer requires the dealer to name a legal suit.
